Did you know you can get married in NYC as a foreign tourist? All it takes is filling out a few online forms, making an appointment, and having a witness with a NYC ID. I love that you can elope to your favorite city and tie the knot without too much fuss.
This couple from Romania reached out through an acquaintance of my husband. Being Romanian myself, I was especially excited to help. When they asked if I wanted to be a witness, I happily said yes—and, as a photographer, I offered to capture a few moments while witnessing. They loved the idea.
We met for the first time in front of the State Office Building. Their two sons were with them, and you could see the mix of happiness and nerves in all of them. The ceremony was quick but deeply emotional—I could feel their love both as a couple and as a family.
Afterward, I guided them around this part of the city. I suggested crossing the bridge to Brooklyn for a stunning city view, and they were all in.
These photos capture just a small part of that magical day. I’ll let the images speak for themselves.
